Description

In this project, an autonomous mechatronic valve system for use in oil and gas wellbores will be developed. The proposed technology includes an interventionless valve system and a reservoir optimization system with sophisticated Artificial Intelligence algorithms. The wellbore is partitioned into stages, with each stage including a valve and sensors to monitor properties of the formation. Sensor measurements are collected at a central decision-making unit, and the optimization system analyzes the collected information to make sophisticated decisions, using AI to operate the mechatronic valves, and thereby optimize hydrocarbon production. Reservoir modelling will be also conducted to understand the effect of the optimization and improvement.
