Description

Use of resistant cultivars is the only economical method to reduce production losses caused by clubroot, but the pathogen has frequently overcome resistance genes employed for clubroot management. Therefore, it is critical that durable resistant cultivars are developed for the prairie region. There is some urgency surrounding the development of new resistant hybrids with the emergence of a new pathotypes. The Firm believes that the most effective way to develop durable resistance will be to pyramid several new resistance genes in a single cultivar, using the firm's unique sequence-based diversity analysis, the firm will design canola clubroot SNP set, allowing breeders to develop elite lines faster, cheaper way to market.
