Project Description
This project aims to respond to the needs and priorities of local grassroots women’s rights organizations (WROs) inside Syria by improving their capacity to promote women’s rights and advance women’s empowerment and gender equality at all levels of Syrian society. The project works to provide organizational technical and thematic capacity building support to partner WROs in the region that possess the unique capacity to reach and support local grassroots WROs in Syria. Project activities include: (1) implementing capacity development plans for partner WROs; (2) providing safety conflict sensitivity and well-being trainings to partner WROs; (3) providing technical capacity development workshops and trainings to grassroots WROs in Syria; (4) facilitating networking opportunities and knowledge exchanges for partner WROs and grassroots WROs in Syria; and (5) providing training in awareness raising and advocacy for partner WROs and grassroots WROs in Syria.
Expected Results
The expected outcomes for this project include: (1) enhanced effectiveness of targeted partner WROs in the region in supporting grassroots WROs in Syria; and (2) enhanced effectiveness of grassroots WROs in supporting women’s equal participation as actors of change for women’s rights in Syria.
