Women's Voice and Leadership - Honduras

Results achieved as of March 2022 include: (1) increased organizational capabilities in 12 women’s rights organizations and platforms; (2) increased capacity of 12 women’s rights organizations and platforms to develop quality inclusive programs and effective mobilization actions. These activities are adapted to the needs and interests of vulnerable and marginalized women and girls; (3) improved effectiveness of seven platforms networks and alliances for defending women’s rights at national and infra-national levels to influence gender-sensitive policies and their implementation in Honduras; (4) 12 women’s rights organizations’ and platforms completed self-assessments of their organizations capacity and nine of them designed their organization strengthening plans; (5) nine organizations strengthened women’s and young women’s transformative leadership implemented new work methodologies and designed more impactful advocacy campaigns; (6) seven women’s rights organizations and platforms developed networks at national and sub-national levels to enhance advocacy impact. This includes coordination of proposals and participation in dialogue tables during the government transition to ensure the inclusion of women’s priorities are included in the new government’s plan; and (7) seven women’s rights organizations continued serving women and girls by accessing the responsive fund during the COVID-19 pandemic and hurricanes Eta and Iota in 2020.These interventions benefited over1 700 women (68% adults and 32% young people under 30 years old) and their families. Most were indigenous and Afro-Hondurans living in remote communities and maquila workers.
