Project Description
The Field Support Services are managed locally and provide essential support in Bangladesh to assist in the planning delivery and monitoring of Canada’s international development assistance to that country. The services include expert advice on: (1) socio-economic policies; (2) analyzing development issues needs and strategies; (3) technical support; (4) project monitoring; and (5) logistical and administrative services.
Expected Results
Although initiatives such as these serve as important mechanisms to support the effective delivery of Canada’s development assistance no direct development outcomes are attributable to them.
Progress & Results Achieved
Results achieved as of March 2024 include: (1) provided 9 technical specialists across 6 sectors covering health including sexual and reproductive health and rights education and skills public finance management gender equality and women’s empowerment and climate change and environment to support the efficient delivery of Canada’s development cooperation program in Bangladesh; (2) through 22 field missions and 23 events including diverse participants the specialists played a significant role in developing strategies initiative-level planning and project and program-level monitoring; and (3) supported Canada's donor coordination and aid effectiveness activities enhancing Canadian visibility across various sectors.
