Provision of radiation detection equipment in Jordan

This project aims to strengthen Jordan's capacity to detect and prevent illicit trafficking of nuclear and radiological materials at the Queen Alia International Airport in Jordan. Project activities include: (1) supplying installing and commissioning radiation detection equipment; (2) supplying handheld radiation detection and identification equipment; and (3) delivering related operational and maintenance training to Jordan’s Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission personnel.

The expected outcome of this project is reduced illicit trafficking of nuclear and radiological materials after effective operation and maintenance of radiation detection and identification equipment.
