The project also builds the capacity of Ukraine's National Academy of Public Administration to competently offer courses in evidence-based economic development planning to ensure that knowledge transfer can occur in other regions and municipalities beyond the life of the project.
Progress & Results Achieved
Results as of July 2013 include: 63 officials have increased their capacity to collect demographic data prepare analytical demographic reports and develop policy solutions to improve the demographic situation in their city or regions. An economic forecasting database and model was completed for all 6 cities and 2 regions after two economic practical trainings with 64 participants allowing them to undertake model-based economic forecasting to support their strategic planning efforts. The city profiles for all 6 municipal partners providing a demographic economic and fiscal overview of the situation in each city were finalised and published in both English and Ukrainian.
