Project Description

This project aims to support sustainable biosafety and biosecurity in Nigeria by providing maintenance works for two years for the Canadian-funded biobank and laboratory (the ‘Facility’) in Lagos State. Project activities include: (1) servicing and certification of the Facility; and (2) training of laboratory personnel on Facility maintenance. This portion of the project represents the contracting fees paid to the Canadian Commercial Corporation for implementing the contract.

Expected Results

The expected outcomes for this project include: (1) improved long-term sustainability of the Lagos State Facility; and (2) reduced access of biological-related materials to non-state actors.

Progress & Results Achieved

Results achieved as of July 2022 includes the delivery of planned maintenance and servicing of the Facility.
