Project Description
Building Ukraine Together focuses on increasing stability and strengthening social cohesion in Ukrainian society. Project activities include: (1) empowering youth to participate in public life and organizing socially significant initiatives to improve their lives and the life of the community; (2) building capacity of youth in recognizing and tolerating socio-cultural political and economic diversity of Ukraine; and (3) developing volunteering in communities in a more widespread and large-scale manner. This project contributes to establishing and running volunteer camps that include cultural and learning programs facilitating volunteer network-building opportunities through hosting events and facilitating study visits.
Expected Results
The expected outcomes of this project include: (1) developed the skills and competencies of the youth in areas such as a sense of trust sense of responsibility mobility ability to learn or self-develop self-charging comprehensive problem-solving and leadership; (2) increased youth awareness of of social inclusion of marginalized groups and gender equality; (3) developed a sense of responsibility comprehensive problem solving and leadership to community representatives (local coordinators and initiative groups) for their further development of Ukraine and (4) increased feelings of support and sense of trust of residents communities through conducted activities.
Progress & Results Achieved
Results achieved as of October 2024 include: (1) 35% of youth (64% women) developed skills and competencies due to their participation in activities; (2) 44% of youth (66% women) increased their awareness of marginalized groups and gender equality; (3) 65% of community representatives (38% men and 62% women) developed skills and competencies due to the participation of their community; (4) 57% of volunteers (25% men and 75% women) among participating communities took part in other Building Ukraine Together activities after the project; (5) motivated 47% of volunteers (37% men and 63% women) to organize socially significant initiatives to improve their lives and the life of the community after participation in activities; (6) 36% of volunteers and people in local initiative groups (33% men and 67% women) developed networking skills after their participation in the project; and (7) 53% of volunteers (27% men and 73% women) understood that their small actions at the local level have an impact at the global level.
