Project Description
This project represents the first of a multi-phase approach to increase the sustainability of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Emergency Operations Center (EOC) Network. It seeks to better prevent detect and respond to infectious disease outbreaks – whether natural accidental or deliberate in origin. Project activities include: (1) delivering and evaluating a pilot online “Emergency Operations Center Essentials” course from ASEAN EOC Network member states; (2) developing a training framework adapted to local contexts including low-resource settings; and (3) planning and delivering a “collaboration and validation” meeting for ASEAN EOC Network member states to review and validate the training framework and curricula developed.
Expected Results
The expected outcomes for this project include a strengthened response of the Emergency Operations Center to health-security emergencies and disasters among ASEAN member states.
Progress & Results Achieved
Result achieved as of February 2022 includes the delivery of the pilot online training to 24 participants (15 women and 9 men from 9 ASEAN member states.
