Project Description
This project engages at least 12 women subject matter experts in nuclear security from developing countries in three main activities that include: (1) providing funds for a gender equality event that engages other women in their home institutions; (2) providing a five-session webinar training series to develop knowledge and skills; and (3) conducting an in-person workshop in Vienna Austria to allow beneficiaries to discuss and analyze gender imbalance within the nuclear security and non-proliferation field and network with women experts from international institutions.
Expected Results
The expected outcomes of this project include: (1) improved knowledge of professional skills nuclear risk reduction tools and opportunities for improving gender equality in the nuclear security and non-proliferation field; (2) stronger connections among women security professionals in different regions to address nuclear security and non-proliferation challenges; (3) improved knowledge- and experience-sharing about women working in the non-proliferation and nuclear security fields; and (4) promote joint projects and diverse solutions to nuclear security and non-proliferation challenges.
