Project Description
This project seeks to support the development of more robust humanitarian financial data in order to effectively improve the sufficiency and efficiency of assistance provided by humanitarian organizations. This project consists of a country case study in Jordan and is designed to gather a deeper understanding of how humanitarian multi-year funding is being operationalized within the country and its impact on humanitarian projects. The project also aims to explore the conditions under which multi-year humanitarian funding maximizes gender-responsive humanitarian action including the extent to which gender considerations are integrated into the design and implementation of multi-year humanitarian responses. Project activities include: (1) identifying the challenges and exploring solutions to passing down multi-year humanitarian funding to implementing partners; (2) gathering financial data on humanitarian multi-year and unearmarked funding; (3) developing indicators to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of multi-year humanitarian funding; and (4) determining the effect of multi-year funding on gender-based violence humanitarian projects.
Expected Results
The expected outcomes for this project include: (1) improved quality of data on multi-year and unearmarked humanitarian funding; (2) developed a more robust comprehension of practical and organizational challenges adopted by stakeholders to maximize the use of multi-year humanitarian funding; and (3) supported evidence-based decision-making on predictable and flexible funding spent on gender responsive humanitarian programming particularly within the Syria Crisis.
