Project Description
This project supports strengthening Ukraine’s nuclear security regime by training nuclear security personnel at the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute (KPI) and enhancing physical protection measures at facilities housing nuclear and radiological material. Project activity includes providing technical system upgrades including computer software printing equipment and supplying office furniture to the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute to assist with creating a computer laboratory within their Physical Protection Training Center.
Expected Results
The expected outcome for this project includes a strengthened ability of nuclear security personnel to assess and manage risk scenarios at nuclear installations.
Progress & Results Achieved
Result achieved as of December 2019 includes the establishment of a furnished computer laboratory at the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute to assist students with hands-on interactive learning opportunities within the Master’s degree in Nuclear Security program.
