Project Description
This project funds the Nuclear Threat Initiative (NTI) to support its work as the Secretariat of the International Partnership for Nuclear Disarmament Verification (IPNDV) in 2017 and 2018. Project activities include: (1) developing an online portal to facilitate discussions among experts between meetings; (2) creating a public website for the IPNDV; and (3) creating an interactive infographic that captures the integrated thinking of experts about verifying the dismantlement of a nuclear warhead.
Expected Results
The expected outcomes of this project include: (1) strengthened capacity to inform the public about the INPDV’s work; and (2) strengthened capacity for experts to collaborate on finding approaches to solve core challenges of disarmament verification.
Progress & Results Achieved
Results achieved as of the end of the project (May 2018) include: (1) launched an online portal for IPNDV experts in April 2017; (2) produced an interactive infographic detailing the challenges associated with dismantling a nuclear weapon and how the IPNDV works to address these challenges in November 2017; and (3) the IPNDV launched its public website in December 2017.
