Project Description

The project aims to strengthen Bolivia’s capacity to respond to devastating forest fires in the Chiquitania region through an in-kind Contribution of aerial firefighting services provided by Canadian company Coulson Aircrane Ltd. Assistance includes the return shipment of one CH-47D Chinook helitanker (the “aircraft”) from Canada or US to Santa Cruz Bolivia. It also includes sufficient operational equipment and qualified flight crews from Coulson to provide aerial firefighting services for up to eight hours daily for up to a total of fourteen days. The project is to be completed by 30 November 2020.

Expected Results

The expected outcome for this project is enhanced capacity of the Government of Bolivia to respond to national emergency resulting from wildfires.
