Project Description
This project aims to further enhance the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) disease surveillance and early warning capacities to monitor infectious diseases of concern. Project activities include: (1) providing training and support to ASEAN member states to operationalize the ASEAN Biodiaspora tool; (2) delivering analytics and data to inform COVID-19 response efforts; and (3) integrating disease surveillance data into ASEAN’s Public Health Emergencies Portal.
Expected Results
The expected outcomes of this project include: (1) increased regional and national response to infectious disease and toxin threats as they emerge globally; and (2) improved regional coordination and communication on biological threat prevention detection risk assessment and response.
Progress & Results Achieved
Results achieved as of March 2023 include: (1) published and distributed over 450 COVID-19 situational reports to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) member states; and (2) successfully integrated data collated by BlueDot Inc.’s Bioadiaspora tool into ASEAN’s Public Health Emergencies Portal.
