Project Description
This project seeks to reduce the threat to global populations of a nuclear and radiological security event. This is done by promoting the ratification and implementation of the three key legal conventions that govern nuclear security. Project activities include: (1) the organization of ten parliamentary sessions to promote nuclear and radiological security in Cameroon Grenada Nepal Sierra Leone Seychelles Suriname Tanzania The Gambia Trinidad and Tobago and Zimbabwe; (2) providing outreach and ongoing communications with participants; and (3) distributing a background briefing paper on the impact of nuclear and radiological weapons and materials on women...
Expected Results
The expected outcome of this project includes increased steps taken by participants from respective target countries to strengthen national frameworks and legal instruments that meet international security threat reduction standards and best practices.
