Project Description
This project provides critically required demining equipment and related personal protective equipment to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SESU) as part of Canada's support to Ukraine in the face of Russia's unprovoked and illegal invasion. Project activities include supplying six explosive ordnance disposal robots for SESU’s demining and explosive ordnance disposal teams.
Expected Results
The expected outcome of this project includes an increased capacity of SESU personnel to safely clear landmines and other unexploded ordnance from Ukrainian territory enabling this land to be returned to productive use.
Progress & Results Achieved
Results achieved as of the end of the project (November 2023) include: (1) access to six Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) robots by demining and EOD personnel of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SESU); and (2) increased knowledge of the operation and maintenance of these units by twelve SESU personnel.
