Project Description
This project provides critically required demining equipment and related personal protective equipment to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SESU) as part of Canada's support to Ukraine in the face of Russia's unprovoked and illegal invasion. Project activities include: : (1) supplying twelve heavy-lift transport vehicles for use by SESU’s demining and explosive ordnance disposal teams; and (2) and supplying twenty medium-lift transport vehicles for use by SESU’s demining and explosive ordnance disposal teams.
Expected Results
The expected outcome of this project includes an increased capacity of SESU personnel to safely clear landmines and other unexploded ordnance from Ukrainian territory enabling this land to be returned to productive use.
Progress & Results Achieved
Results achieved at the end of the project (March 2024) include: (1) access to 12 heavy-lift transport vehicles for use by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SESU) demining and explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) teams; and (2) access to 20 medium-lift transport vehicles for use by SESU’s demining and EOD response teams.
