Project Description

This project aims to deliver two conferences to convene global experts to analyze the implications of and possible responses to non-compliance with the Chemical Weapons Convention explore ways and means to address threats posed by repeated chemical weapons use in Syria and beyond and examine how the convention and the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) can remain effective in the face of persistent threats.

Expected Results

The expected outcomes for this project include: (1) strengthened understanding by States Parties and other interlocutors views on the implementation of the Chemical Weapons Convention ahead of the 2023 Review Conference; and (2) strengthened understanding of what success might look like at the 2023 Review Conference and how best to get there.
