Project Description

This project aims to lay the groundwork for developing and implementing long-term sustainable solutions for infectious disease diagnostics laboratories in resource-challenged environments. It does so by launching a grand challenge on sustainable diagnostic laboratories. Project activities include: (1) conducting a landscape analysis of sustainable diagnostic labs; and (2) identifying a group of subject matter and local experts to support the development and the implementation of the grand challenge work plan.

Expected Results

The expected outcomes of this project include: (1) increased readiness of the World Organisation for Animal Health to launch a grand challenge for sustainable diagnostic labs; and (2) strengthened advocacy with donors and partners to contribute funds to the diagnostic laboratories.
