Project Description
This project aims to strengthen the implementation of the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) and enhance and expand public awareness of the global importance of the CWC. Project activities include: (1) facilitating the participation of civil society representatives at the 25th and 26th Annual CWC Conferences; (2) organizing activities and side-events at the 25th and 26th Annual CWC Conferences; (3) publishing the monthly CWC Coalition e-newsletter; (4) organizing of the CWC Coalition working meetings; and (5) developing the CWC Coalition website and social media.
Expected Results
The expected outcomes of this project is increased participation especially by women of civil society representatives in international high-level discussions on the Chemical Weapons Convention and its universal implementation.
Progress & Results Achieved
Results achieved as of March 2022 include: (1) over 20 Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) Coalition members engaged in post-Annual CWC Conferences; (2) 10 joint statements 10 video statements and seven individual statements delivered; (3) six representatives from NGOs provided with travel support to attend the 26th Conference of States Parties; (4) seven CWC Coalition e-newsletters published; and (5) 1 800 visitors to the CWC Coalition website and 42 300 Twitter impressions posted.
