Project Description
The Office of the Special Adviser (OSA) to the United Nations Secretary-General on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (2030 Agenda) is a key centre of influence in the process to engage guide and support member states with the implementation of the 2030 Agenda. Multi-stakeholder coordination for the 2030 Agenda supports the OSA to coordinate strategic engagement among member states the multilateral system civil society business social media and academia. Project activities include: (1) engaging politically and programmatically with national governments to provide guidance support and/or develop linkages amongst actors for the effective implementation of the 2030 Agenda; (2) working with the multilateral system to ensure that it provides the best possible support for 2030 Agenda implementation in all of the countries and/or thematic areas in which it operates; and (3) developing pro-active outreach campaigns to ensure that information regarding the 2030 Agenda is widely dispersed and accessible through the active involvement of organizations and stakeholders in civil society business communications social media academia and other bodies.
Expected Results
The expected outcomes for this project include: (1) improved information sharing amongst member states and other key stakeholders; (2) increased collaboration and coherence on policy and programming activities amongst key stakeholders and across the sustainable development goals; (3) strengthened communication and outreach plans including the mobilization of key stakeholders to engage non-traditional partners in 2030 Agenda activities; and (4) improved linkages between the 2030 Agenda the OSA and other United Nations Special Committees (i.e. Every Woman Every Child the Zero Hunger Challenge).
