Project Description
The Review of the CARICOM Regional Institutions project implemented by the Caribbean Community Secretariat will provide CARICOM with an evidenced based analysis of the institutions which will outline measures to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of 17 CARICOM regional institutions with a view to effectively rationalize their functions funding and structures to better provide equitable services to member states. This project will contribute to a streamlined gender integrated CARICOM institutions that are able to deliver equitable and gender sensitive services to their members states.
Expected Results
The expected outcomes for this project include: (1) an enhanced understanding of how CARICOM can provide improved gender-sensitive service delivery to its member states; and (2) an improved understanding of how CARICOM can benefit from regional integration and co-operation.
Progress & Results Achieved
Results achieved at the end of the project (December 2023) include: (1) delivered a holistic review of 16 Caribbean Community (CARICOM) regional institutions that provides information on the challenges affecting institutional performance including issues of gender equality; and (2) completed a final report with recommendations on how CARICOM institutions can be better equipped to deliver more equitable and gender-sensitive services to their member States.
