Project Description
This project aims to support the stabilization of communities in Deir ez-Zor Syria to build their resilience to violence and counter the resurgence of Daesh. This project enhances the Deir ez-Zor Civil Council’s (DZCC) capacity to provide effective reconciliation services increase civil society organisations’ ability to engage in governance and improve water and agricultural infrastructure to better access sustainable water sources and livelihoods.
Expected Results
The expected outcomes for this project include: (1) increased capacity of DZCC its committees and local institutions to provide effective governance and reconciliation services to all persons including a diversity of women and girls from different tribes and ethnic groups under DZCC governance; and (2) improved livelihoods of all persons especially a diversity of women and youth from different tribes and ethnic groups under DZCC governance.
Progress & Results Achieved
Results achieved as of May 2022 include: (1) rehabilitated four water stations and one water canal in Deir Ez Zour Syria; and (2) integrated four water purification systems at each station allowing for water access to nearly 100 000 residents.
