Project Description

This project works to assist Indonesia in preventing the radicalization of its citizens and to support its efforts in countering violent extremism. Project activities include: (1) conducting three specialized trainings for the Indonesian National Police Counter-Terrorism Unit; and (2) conducting two Regional Counter-Terrorism Investigations Management courses with special focus placed on fostering links between counterterrorism investigators in Southeast Asia and the rest of the world.

Expected Results

The expected outcomes for this project include: (1) increased level of successful investigations in counter-terrorism and human smuggling cases in Southeast Asia and in Indonesia; and (2) increased collaboration and cooperation between Canadian Law Enforcement Agencies (LEA) and Southeast Asian LEA and/or amongst Southeast Asian LEA.
