Project Description

This project supports the development of concrete technology-based solutions to support a potential nationwide ceasefire agreement in Yemen confidence-building between parties. Hala Systems works in partnership with the Sana’a Center for Strategic Studies and in close coordination with the Office of the Special Envoy of the Secretary General to Yemen. Project activities include: (1) conducting human observation (e.g. by third party monitors conflict participants) as well as machine and programmatic observation of violent events for ceasefire monitoring; (2) conducting transitional arms control mechanisms; and (3) analyzing data to inform policy makers.

Expected Results

The expected outcomes for this project include: (1) civilian casualty rates and trauma from acts of violence are reduced; and (2) ceasefire agreements are better monitored.
