Project Description
The project aims to increase the capacity of the Women Peace and Security (WPS) Secretariat operating under UN Women. The purpose of the Secretariat is to improve information sharing between WPS Focal Points Networks (FPN) member states and WPS practitioners to foster the continued exchange. This type of information includes best practices lessons learned and flow of knowledge products on WPS issues to the WPS FPN and WPS practitioners. The WPS FPN was created in the recognition that national and regional efforts are vital for the full and effective implementation and coordination of the Women Peace and Security (WPS) Agenda. Project activities include: (1) increasing engagement and coordination between National FPNs and WPS practitioners; (2) creating and maintaining a WPS FPN website providing resources and information on WPS initiatives research and trends at local national regional and global levels; (3) expanding and creating content for the FPNs’ social media outreach; (4) conducting targeted analysis on the implementation of WPS National Action Plans in support of and building on existing initiatives being led by civil society and other key stakeholders; and (5) supporting the conduct of high-quality annual FPN meetings. The direct beneficiaries of the project are WPS national and regional FPNs governments international and regional organizations civil society actors of all genders and civil society organizations.
Expected Results
The expected outcomes for this project include: (1) Improved utilization by WPS National Focal Points of best practices in designing and implementing National Action Plans and other WPS commitments and accountability frameworks; and (2) increased ability for engagement coordination and advocacy between National Focal Points in the implementation of the Women Peace and Security Agenda at national regional and international levels.

Activities were completed aimed to increase peace and stability in conflict-affected states.
