Project Description
This project aims to strengthen the resilience of conflict-affected communities in northeast Nigeria. Project activities include: (1) increasing access to quality basic services and (2) supporting livelihoods. The project aims to reach 7 000 people in two local government areas in Yobe and Adamawa States with an estimated 30 000 as indirect beneficiaries the majority of whom are returning internally displaced people.
Expected Results
The expected outcomes for this project include: (1) increased access to quality basic services; and (2) improved livelihoods.
Progress & Results Achieved
Results achieved as of the end of the project (September 2019) include: (1) 11 790 direct beneficiaries and over 34 000 indirect beneficiaries were reached in Yobe and Adamawa States; (2) 2 000 farmer households were provided with agricultural inputs and training and 249 people (mostly youth) were provided with non-agricultural vocational training to increase livelihood opportunities; and (3) basic community services damaged by conflict were restored namely the rehabilitation of two primary schools and the installation of six water boreholes.
