Project Description
This project supports the work of the United Nations Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs (DPPA) which plays a central role in the United Nations efforts to prevent deadly conflict and build sustainable peace around the world. The DPPA also works to help ensure the meaningful participation of women youth Indigenous peoples and marginalized groups in political processes conflict prevention and mediation. Project activities include: (1) advancing the sustaining peace agenda by supporting inclusive constitutional processes peaceful elections and national dialogues; (2) strengthening the capacity of regional and sub-regional organizations to address key conflict drivers; and (3) fostering inclusiveness through civil society networks.
Expected Results
The expected outcomes for this project include: (1) strengthened international peace and security through inclusive prevention mediation and peacebuilding processes with an emphasis on enhanced and meaningful participation of women and youth; and (2) broadened partnerships for conflict prevention conflict resolution and peacebuilding within the UN system member states regional organizations and civil society networks.
