Project Description

This project aims to increase the capacity and knowledge of key Government of Colombia agencies at national and local levels as well as civil society actors that are responsible for implementing Colombia's peace process. The project also works to increase citizen engagement through peacebuilding and reconciliation thereby contributing to citizen mobilization around the implementation of the peace accords. Project activities include: (1) improving the Government of Colombia's ability to monitor and track the results of their project implementation plan; (2) effectively reaching newly identified victims in the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC-EP) controlled areas for registration and inclusion in the victims' assistance program; (3) implementing participatory research and planning on new forms of youth criminality linked to post-conflict dynamics; and (4) increasing support for the peace process and peace implementation through engaging national and local peacebuilding stakeholders with educational and communication material.

Expected Results

The expected outcomes of this project include: (1) increased readiness of the Government of Colombia to respond to emerging peacebuilding challenges and implement the Peace Agreement between the Government of Colombia and the FARC; and (2) increased support for the peace process and peace implementation through the engagement of national and local peacebuilding stakeholders.
