Project Description
January 2020 – The ongoing crisis in Syria continues to be a driver of displacement and humanitarian needs throughout the country. Over 9 years into the conflict an estimate 11 million people remain in need of humanitarian assistance of which 5 million people are facing acute humanitarian needs and millions remain displaced internally and throughout the region. Years of active conflict and displacement have exacerbated protection risks and increased vulnerability for millions. Humanitarian access to those most in need remains a significant challenge. With GAC’s support this project works to provide health protection and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) services to up to 57 000 persons. Project activities include: (1) provision of emergency gender-responsive health care services; (2) provision of emergency nutrition services for pregnant and lactating women girls and boys; (3) provision of high quality child protection services and gender-based violence (GBV) services for women men girls and boys; and (4) provision of gender-responsive water sanitation and hygiene (WASH) services for women men girls and boys.
