Project Description

The United Nations Peacebuilding Fund (PBF) provides support in fragile and conflict affected states by delivering fast flexible and targeted programming to peace support and peace building initiatives. The PBF is an essential component of the enhanced UN architecture to provide a more sustained engagement in support of countries affected by conflict and instability. It also supports peacebuilding activities that directly contribute to stabilization and strengthening of state capacity national and local institutions and transitional or other authorities. The priorities for the PBF are implementing peace agreements dialogue and coexistence peace dividends and re-establishing basic services.

Expected Results

The expected outcomes for this project include: (1) improved stability in countries benefitting from PBF programs; and (2) gender equality promoted through targeted peacebuilding activities.
