Project Description

The Global Donor Platform for Rural Development (GDPRD) is the principal platform that unites major development agencies in a coordinated manner to improve the aid effectiveness of development assistance in the fields of agriculture and rural development. The GDPRD endorses common programming and policy initiatives coordinates member positions and provides a broad knowledge-sharing network. CIDA views the Platform as a valuable forum for promoting harmonization and alignment and as a knowledge network in agriculture and rural development.

Expected Results

Although initiatives such as these serve as important mechanisms to support the effective delivery of Canada’s development assistance no direct development outcomes are attributable to them.
