Project Description

The Active Learning Network for Accountability and Performance in Humanitarian Action (ALNAP) has been a leading voice for the more rigorous application of learning and evaluation processes across the humanitarian sector. With GAC’s support ALNAP is focussed on the organization's work to assess and monitor humanitarian performance in Syria Iraq and the wider Middle East region. It contributes to ALNAP's efforts to identify key problems build consensus on common approaches and solutions and share lessons learned thereby improving the quality of humanitarian action and accountability of humanitarian actors in Syria Iraq and across the humanitarian system.

Expected Results

The expected immediate outcomes for this project include: (1) the maintenance of the Syria Evaluation Portal; (2) holding workshops to examine the effectiveness of humanitarian assistance in the Middle East region; (3) the publication of the State of the Humanitarian System report; and (4) dissemination of lessons learned papers on key humanitarian themes and responses.
