Project Description
The project aims to support civil society organizations in carrying out advocacy work in the online space by increasing their ability to defend themselves from digital attacks. The project seeks to respond to the digital risks faced by civil society human rights organizations independent media and online activists by equipping them with tools techniques and knowledge that help to deter protect from and address cyber-attacks.
Expected Results
The expected outcome for this project is an increase in the level of resilience from civil society organisations in response to digital attacks.
Progress & Results Achieved
Results achieved as of the end of the project (March 2019) include: (1) 290 civil society actors of Ukraine and Colombia received training and are utilizing security tools and information; (2) 14 organizations in Colombia and Ukraine received case-by-case consulting; (3) the project organized a 5 day international conference on cybersecurity; and (4) 33 organizations and 50 participants (of whom 21 are women) from almost every region of the world attended the conference.
