Project Description
This project aims to support the Global Partnership for Effective Development Cooperation (GPEDC) an inclusive platform established in 2012 as a follow-up to the 4th High Level Forum (HLF4) on Aid Effectiveness in Busan. The GPEDC promotes knowledge sharing and fosters multi-stakeholder partnerships for effective development cooperation. The HLF4 called on the United Nationas Development Programme (UNDP) and the OECD's Development Assistance Committee (DAC) to set up a joint support team (JST) to facilitate the effective functioning of the GPEDC. Project activities include (1) support monitoring of development cooperation at country levels; (2) foster mutual learning among stakeholders; (3) strengthen linkages with global processes for implementing Agenda 2030; (4) provide secretariat support to the steering committee; and (5) organize the second high level meeting. The support provided under this project is for UNDP's JST activities in 2016.
Expected Results
The expected intermediate outcomes for this project include: (1) a strengthened GPEDC monitoring framework; (2) dissemination of good practices/challenges of multi-stakeholder partnerships and implementation of the principles of effective development cooperation on the ground; (3) strengthened national multi-stakeholder cooperation frameworks; (4) enhanced visibility for effective development cooperation; (5) better functioning of the steering committee; and (6) a successful second high level meeting in 2016.
