Project Description
GAC’s humanitarian support to the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Bangladesh Nigeria and Yemen is contributing to meet the needs of vulnerable women and girls particularly related to reproductive health and sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV). Project activities include: (1) in Nigeria providing emergency obstetric care to women and sexual and reproductive health services to vulnerable people particularly women and girls; (2) in Bangladesh supporting the sexual and reproductive health and rights and gender-based violence needs of Rohingya refugees from Myanmar; and (3) in Yemen providing health services equipment and medication to Yemeni women and girls and distributing dignity kits and reproductive health kits.
Expected Results
The expected outcomes for this project include: (1) improved sexual and reproductive health of vulnerable populations; and (2) increased protection from gender-based violence. The expected ultimate outcome is lives saved suffering alleviated and human dignity maintained in countries experiencing humanitarian crises or that are food insecure.
