Project Description

The project aims to increase the representation of women in United Nations peacekeeping missions by training up to 200 women police officers through specialized training. Project activities include: (1) developing workshops in English and French for women police candidates; (2) conducting four regional workshops on increasing opportunities for women in senior United Nations police positions; and (3) mentoring of women in senior positions in peacekeeping missions and at United Nations headquarters.

Expected Results

The expected outcomes for this project include: (1) increased representation of qualified women police officers in leadership and professional posts; (2) increased operational efficiency of United Nations Police components; (3) improved promotion of gender equality during mandate implementation; and (4) improved service delivery to vulnerable populations.
