Project Description

This project aims to promote equitable economic opportunities for women and men in the durum wheat and pulse crops milling industries in Morocco. The project seeks to provide technical assistance to the Moroccan Milling Industry Training Institute to enable it to become a centre of excellence in training on the milling of durum wheat and pulse crops. Some project activities include: (i) providing training to the Institute’s instructors; (ii) providing the Institute with equipment and training material focussed on milling durum wheat and pulse crops; and (iii) supporting the Institute in providing quality specialized training to its students in the area of milling durum wheat and pulse crops.

Expected Results

The project seeks to increase the technical capacities of Moroccan millers thereby increasing productivity in the sector. The project also puts in place special measures to facilitate the integration of women in technical and managerial positions in the industry.
