Project Description
This initiative aims to increase employment for youth in Morocco. The International Labour Organization (ILO) aims to provide technical assistance to: strengthen entrepreneurship education and training; improve the services of local public employment centers and business development service providers; and involve young women and men in policy dialogue to help inform national youth employment policies.
Expected Results
The expected intermediate outcome for this project include: (i) enhanced employability of youth particularly women in Morocco; and (ii) increased employment opportunities for out-of school youth particularly women in pilot areas.
Progress & Results Achieved
Results achieved as of March 2014 include: (i) 55 trainers trained in entrepreneurship education in universities and a working group established to consolidate the training programme across 8 participating universities (ii) a “youth to youth” fund to support youth-led enterprise initiatives was launched and 77 proposals were received from the three target zones; (iii) a multi-stakeholder working group on women’s entrepreneurship development was established members include 8 organisations (from public private and civil society) to carry forward evidence-based policy recommendations with government.
