Project Description
The goal of this program is to support the sustainable development of democracies in the countries of operation of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE). The program's objectives are to help OSCE participating states to: 1) ensure full respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms; 2) abide by the rule of law; 3) promote principles of democracy; 4) build strengthen and protect democratic institutions; and 5) promote tolerance throughout society. This program supports OSCE programming in the human dimension of security. It seeks to achieve results in the following key areas: gender equality combating trafficking in human beings migration/freedom of movement and human rights. The program aims to help OSCE partner institutions government organizations and civil society organizations to: 1) design and implement gender-sensitive policies programmes and projects; 2) increase their effectiveness in assessing designing and delivering programs that incorporate democratic principles and human rights aspects and also target national and transnational crime and human trafficking issues. The program aims to enhance human security in OSCE countries.
