Project Description
This project aims to improve access to sufficient safe and nutritious food in three regions of Burkina Faso by strengthening the capacities of 50 trainers (women and men) in the rural development centres located throughout the country. These centres train women and men in sustainable agriculture and gender analysis in cooperation with three local institutional partners (the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security the Ministry of Youth Vocational Training and Employment and the Ministry for the Advancement of Women and Gender) as well as local civil society organizations. The project supports the training of about 230 women and men.
Expected Results
The expected intermediate outcomes for this project include: increased effectiveness of rural development centres enabling equitable gender-sensitive training services and management that contribute to sustainable agro-sylvo-pastoral development; and increased effectiveness of small and medium-size agricultural producers and entrepreneurs particularly women in organizing and in sustainably improving production in the communities served by the rural development centres and their partners.
