Project Description

The project aims to enhance the delivery of reproductive and maternal health services to indigenous women living in three remote Mayan communities including the ability of traditional midwifes to provide natal care and safe deliveries. It also improves access to basic health care services for these women and their families. This is achieved through the training of traditional midwives the delivery of health education sessions to women and other residents including men and by supporting local health institutions in reaching the communities and providing basic health care.
