Project Description

This project supports the efforts of Mujeres en Desarrollo Dominicana (MUDE) to provide greater access to reproductive health products and services to women men and youth living in isolated and rural communities in one of the poorest provinces of the Dominican Republic where HIV/AIDS and cervical cancer are important causes of death for women. Using a network of five health promoters the project provides: (a) workshops on reproductive health family planning and gender violence; (b) health referral services to ensure adequate testing and treatment of beneficiaries at local and regional health institutions; and (c) access to contraceptive products at low cost. This is one of two parts of a project valued at $270 924. The first part has been completed.
