Project Description

The goal of this project is to contribute to the social and economic development of Tajikistan the poorest country in Central Asia. Through the project habitat resource centres (HRCs) and manufacturing facilities are established in two of the poorest districts of Tajikistan in order to provide vocational education programs (e.g. welding electricity masonry plastering and painting) that are integrated into the government education system. The HRCs provide employment opportunities and enhance self-employment opportunities for disadvantaged groups while simultaneously increasing the capacity of the target communities to improve their living conditions through building renovating and maintaining safe and decent homes. This is one of two components of a project valued at $499 697. The first component has been completed.
