Project Description
This project focuses on ensuring equitable economic growth and expanding employment opportunities for large segments of the Vietnamese population. It aims among other things to create jobs to absorb the excess labour force created by underemployment especially in rural areas and to upgrade the knowledge of the National Economics University faculty members on specific topics related to business training and education. Activities include: training curriculum development applied research and community-based pilot testing.
Progress & Results Achieved
Results achieved as of April 2013 include: (i) trained 18 faculty members of Vietnam's National Economics University to help them improve their ability to develop curriculum for academic professional and high school programs; (ii) developed curriculum and course content on a business-related pilot course for high school; (iii) developed nine short-term professional development training programs such as Effective Human Resource Management Analysing Financial Statement and Business Operation Reports and Corporate Social Responsibility; (iv) developed and delivered practical courses to 175 senior managers (42 women and 133 men) of small and medium-sized enterprises and state-owned businesses; and (v) conducted six applied research projects. These results contributed to improved the performance of small and medium-sized enterprises in Vietnam.
