Project Description

The project seeks to promote youth leadership and gender equality through reproductive health and women's rights education. It develops knowledge and technical skills among Gambian students in the areas of gender equality (the main focus of the project) reproductive health and communication techniques. The goal is to enhance the self-confidence self-esteem and leadership abilities of the students. The proven method of the Peer Health Educators by which knowledge is transmitted among peer groups of students is used. Selected teachers are also trained on the same issues to transfer the same knowledge to other students through their own programs. The project also seeks to increase women's rights awareness among policy-makers government and general public. This is one of two parts of a project valued at $495 840.
