Project Description

This project aims to strengthen the maternal health care system in northern Iraq (Kurdistan region) by providing medical training and materials to health care personnel delivering obstetrical care. The project also seeks to endorse positive opinions of the role of traditional birth attendants and to identify ways to further develop the skills of these women. In Canada public engagement activities include sharing lessons learned about partnership building working inter-culturally and strengthening women's health care systems. This is one of two parts of a project valued at $170 650. The first part has been completed.
