Project Description

This project seeks to build competencies of ten prominent Environmental non-governmental organizations (ENGOs) who are members of an environmental coalition/network in the Cross River State (CRS) through a customized 3-year training program. The program improves the leaders' capacity to affect policy change and environmental improvements at the national and sub-national level and to strengthen the institutional governance and management within their organizations. The leaders through their organizations implement projects to support rural communities in combating poverty through improved natural resources management. The ENGOs are strengthened institutionally and they are able to cohesively promote more accountable forestry agriculture and natural resources management. This is one of two parts of a project valued at $420 000. The first part has been completed.
